We are committed to providing a two year, high quality on-campus living and educational environment to Cal Poly students. University Housing is dedicated to providing housing to all new students, however with student numbers varying each year, our ability to meet the demand may fluctuate. The Housing Application system becomes available to new students shortly after submitting their "admissions acceptance" with Cal Poly's Admissions Office (via the Accept/Decline link on their Portal account). University Housing operates on a first-come, first-served basis as space and demand allow, so keep an eye on dates and schedules.
To secure a space in on-campus housing, students need to have their "admissions acceptance" on record with Cal Poly Admissions. The "admissions acceptance" option can be accessed via the "Accept/Decline" link from within a student's Cal Poly Portal account at my.calpoly.edu and is required to initiate the housing application process.
As on-campus housing space is limited, Student Housing License Agreements and payments are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Payments and License Agreements received after all spaces are filled will be returned. University Housing takes into account projected cancellations; therefore we only maintain an "Interest List.."
The University Housing staff is available to assist and support students with ADA or unique needs. Assistance in completing Housing Applications, forms, etc. is readily available via e-mail at housing@calpoly.edu or by calling the Housing Administration Office at 805.756.1226.
On-campus housing will be in double, triple, or single rooms in residence halls or apartments. All students living in residence halls are required to purchase a mandatory residence hall dining plan. All Freshmen living in on-campus apartments are required to purchase a mandatory apartment dining plan. Continuing, Transfer, and International students living in on-campus apartments are not required to purchase a dining plan. Dining plans are offered through Campus Dining.
