Winter Break and Spring Housing

Please add your name to our interest list. The application for housing starting spring semester opens 9 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10 and closes Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Winter Break and Spring Housing 

In addition to housing contracts that run for the academic year, students can apply for winter break or spring semester housing only.  

Application Steps 

To be notified of when to apply, add your name to the winter break and spring semester housing interest lists. Log into your Housing Portal and select the 2026–27 academic year to add your name. You will be contacted through your Cal Poly email to apply when the application opens.  

If you add your name to the interest list and then determine you no longer need campus housing, please return to your Housing Portal to remove your name.

For winter break housing, residents have the option to stay in campus housing for a flat rate. Apartment residents will stay in their fall assignment, resident hall residents will move temporarily to Cerro Vista Apartments.

Oct. 15, 2026

Winter break housing interest list opens. Log into your Housing Portal and select the 2026-27 academic year application to get started.

Nov. 10, 2026

Spring 2027 housing application opens to those that have added themselves to the interest list. Log into your Housing Portal and select the 2026-27 academic year application to get started.

Nov. 16, 2026

Winter break housing application opens to those that have added themselves to the interest list. Log into your Housing Portal and select the 2026-27 academic year application to get started.

Dec. 2, 2026

Winter break housing and spring 2027 housing applications are due.

December TBD

Spring 2027 housing fees post to student account and room assignments are viewable in the online application system.

Dec. 25, 2026

Last date to cancel spring 2027 housing without financial penalty. A 30-day notice is required.

Feb. 1, 2027

First payment for spring 2027 housing is due. Students may pay the full amount or pay the first installment amount. Remaining installments are due on the first of the month starting March 1, 2027, and then every month through May 1, 2027.

Sunday, Jan. 24, 2027, starting at noon 

Residents move into campus housing for spring 2027.
