Transfer and Grad Student Housing Fees
The fees noted are for the license period beginning 8 a.m., Sept. 16, 2025 and ending at noon on June 14, 2026. Winter break is not included in the academic year license period.
All fees are proposed and subject to change and approval by Cal Poly Executive Order and the CSU Board of Trustees. Fees may also be adjusted for different occupancy/room configurations or for shorter stays due to public health conditions.

Winter Break Fees
Housing is closed for winter break at 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 until noon, Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026. Winter break is not included in the academic year contract and is a separate fee. The fee is not refundable and can't be prorated. Select winter break housing when you sign up for the academic year, if you plan to stay for the break. All verified Guardian Scholars (former foster youth and other independent youth) are entitled to housing over winter break at no additional charge.

Payments
Pay the $500 non-refundable initial payment when you sign up for housing. This is required to submit the application and secure a space. The initial payment is automatically bypassed for students who qualify for payment deferral based on 2026-27 FAFSA or CA Dream application data as determined by the Cal Poly Financial Aid Office.
Annual housing fees are posted to your Student Account in August. Options for paying fees include deferring to financial aid—if there are funds remaining after tuition is covered, paying the annual balance or making quarterly or monthly installments.
