University Housing and Residence Life is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming residential community. If you're unsure where to start, your Residential Life staff can help connect you with the appropriate resources.

Living Safely in University Housing
Everyone contributes to a safe community. Residents can help by:
- Locking doors and windows.
- Never allowing unknown individuals into residence halls.
- Reporting broken doors, lighting, or other hazards.
- Participating in emergency drills and evacuations.
- Looking out for neighbors and checking in when someone seems to be struggling.

A safe and supportive community depends on all of us. If you notice something that doesn't seem right—whether it's a safety hazard, concerning behavior, or a student who may need support—we encourage you to speak up. Reporting a concern isn't about getting someone in trouble. It's about helping keep our community safe and connecting students with the resources they may need. Cal Poly provides a centralized reporting page where students, faculty, staff, and community members can submit reports for a variety of concerns, including Student Conduct, CARE (Student of Concern), Bias Incidents, and other community concerns.
